T-Mobile to offer Samsung with sliding QWERTY, HD display

T-Mobile will soon offer a Samsung Android phone a sliding QWERTY keyboard and a 720p HD display, according to TmoNews. Initially rumored as a potential Galaxy Nexus for T-Mobile, the SGH-T699 should be the first slider with a high-definition screen.

Additional details for the unnamed device include Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 5-megapixel camera, a second front-facing camera, and an LED notification light. Also, we can glean from the image that the keyboard is five rows and the phone carries over the home button found on the Galaxy S III.

At this stage it’s too early to determine whether this will be a high-end device, as the processor and memory are still unknown. Other factors that will determine price and prowess include HSPA+ speeds and if the device offers memory expansion. Simply because a smartphone is easy on the eyes does not mean it has the makings of a top-tier handset.
